Where are you based?

I am based in Merseyside, with a studio in Liverpool, L20 but travel across the UK on a frequent basis with options to travel further if required.
Do you have packages available?

For weddings there are several main packages, all of which can be tailored and personalised accordingly.
For portraits, commercial and events work please get in touch with details of your requirements and I will come back to you.
Do we receive a written contract?

At the time of booking a digital contract containing all the information you need concerning your booking is sent out. Once it is signed and returned, the date is yours.
Do you use any lighting equipment?

I normally try and use natural light when or where possible, but do also have flash guns and strobe lighting available for creative and evening work for darker venues.
Are all your pictures in colour? Can we choose black & white?

In my experience some of the best collections of images created include both colour and black & white.
Some pictures, once the colour is taken away develop a timeless and classic look that cannot otherwise be achieved.
What sort of back up do you have?

I have backup gear which we take to all engagements, and in the unlikely event that I am unable to cover your shoot, I am lucky to be part of a large national network of photographers who would be more than happy to step in and assist if necessary
Do you work outside of your area? Do you charge a travel fee?

All engagements are inclusive of our travel, however where travel is required more than two hours from Merseyside, additional fees may apply.
Can other people take photographs, while you are taking yours?

I understand that guests may wish to take photographs too, however, I ask that I photograph alone during couple and group portraits.

Questions Concerning Wedding Photography

How far ahead do we need to book with you?

Some people tend to book 1 to 2 years in advance, but that's entirely up to you. For weddings, we only take one booking per day and once booked we commit that date on a first come, first served basis. For Portraits and Commercial booking so far ahead is not normally required.
How many weddings do you shoot a year?

As a photographer I try and limit myself to 35/40 weddings per year to allow me to focus on and give the required attention to my new and existing clients.
Do you require deposits for your wedding photography and when is the balance due? Are payment plans available?

To confirm and hold your date, a £250 deposit is required to be paid along with a signed copy of the booking contract. The final balance be paid and cleared 6 weeks prior to the big day.
We do not offer payment plans as such, however we are looking at working with a finance company and information will be posted online once available.
Can I print my own wedding photographs from the proofs / gallery or does this infringe copyright?

Included in all wedding packages are the printing rights for the happy couple. This means you are able to get your prints from a number of companies or you can print your own. It is  always strongly advised that to get the best quality and longevity you get these from a professional printing lab.
Can I choose specific shots I want taken?

For weddings, and as part of the consultation process we discuss any key shots you require to be taken and we work this into our process on the day.
The same also applies to our portrait and event photography - but almost all our clients allow us take full creative control.
At a wedding, who will be our photographer on the day?

I will always be your primary photographer, along with Steve from Purple Parrot Photography.
We may also have an additional shooter or assistant but this will be discussed with you first.
Can other people take photographs, while you are taking yours?

I understand that guests may wish to take photographs too, and especially at a wedding, and this is okay. However, I ask that I photograph alone during couple and group shots.
In addition to this we would request that we are the only professional photographers shooting at a wedding.
How long will you shoot at a wedding for?

We usually arrive 1.5 to 2 hours prior to the ceremony to cover arrivals etc, and are usually with the bride and groom until the first dance, depending on the package agreed.
Can wedding coverage be extended if things overrun or last longer than expected?

Obviously we would always appreciate knowing in advance if this is was the case, but understand this is not always possible.
If requested, additional coverage is charged at £100 per hour
Do you shoot (Large / Small / Indian / Persian / Jewish / Christian / Gay / Non-Religious) Weddings?

Yes, of course! It would be our pleasure to document your celebration of any faith, non-faith, or orientation.
Can we customise a wedding package with you based on our own needs?

We fully understand each and every wedding is different and bespoke to you, and are happy to discuss any ideas changes or customisations you might have.
Do you offer engagement & pre-wedding photography?

Yes - this is not included as standard in our packages but is most certainly something we can discuss with you.
How long do wedding picture proofs take to arrive?

We aim to get a mini selection of images online for you within 24 hours, with the rest to follow. This can be between 4-8 weeks after the day of the wedding.
How many photographs do you take at a wedding?

Great question, and whilst this is usually in the region of 300-500 pictures this can often exceed 750-1000 depending on the length of the day
How do we book you for our wedding?

Firstly, we always like to meet clients for a ‘no obligation’ chat to discuss their requirements and learn about their day. This can either be a meeting in person or a skype/phone call.
This is a good way for us to get to know you and you to know us as well. In order to secure your wedding date, you will need to sign a wedding contract form, complete a pre-wedding questionnaire, and pay a deposit.
What style of Wedding Photography do you offer?

Our main aim is to provide you with a set of images that reflect the story of your day, therefore our style is very much grounded in contemporary and reportage wedding photography. However, we also do appreciate that family like to have a few group portraits, and will happily plan and coordinate these with you before and on the day.
